The "Memphis in Shanghai" Design Exhibition hosted by Tongji University was held on November 27, 2020 at the Architectural Design and Research Institute of Tongji University, as one of the celebration events of the 50th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Italy. The exhibition featured furniture, lighting and decorative objects made from a variety of materials that are representative of the Memphis School, whose design movement marked a major change in design in the early 1980s, encouraging a more perceptive, iconic approach.
