The Sino-Italian Week was held on Siping and Jiading Campus of Tongji University respectively on November 19 and November 20, 2021. It is an intercultural innovative exchange event of the Tongji Intercultural Experience Festival, directed by Students' Affairs Department and International Exchange and Cooperation Office of Tongji University, co-organized by the Sino-Italian Campus of Tongji University and the China-Italy Chamber of Commerce and assisted by 11 Tongji departments or other organizations including the University Youth League, New Students College, Tongji University Library. The event comprises multiform on-campus cultural innovation activities co-hosted by Chinese and Italian organizers including workshops, forums, exhibitions, film screening, lectures and salons etc., attracting over 1,000 students and faculty and was organized with the help of over 50 volunteers. The various activities grant students and faculty the opportunities of experience, exchange and practice to promote the knowledge of traditional Chinese culture as well as gain an international insight.

The Sino-Italian Cultural Festival integrates cultural performance, workshops, interactive mini-games, film screening and more forms of events. Workshops cover 13 themes including fine food, fashion, furniture, art, cultural heritage etc. with guests from enterprises such as MAMMAMIA, Lavazza, Foodyi and Zhong Art International; student associations of Tongji University such as Jinyin Flute Association, Caiwei Tea Association, Dessert Association, Free Art League, Yocco Handicraft Association, Poetry Association and Tongji Top-10 Singers etc.; artists of Guqin, straw weaving and art installation creation etc.; and other teachers and laboratories of Tongji University.

Sino-Italian Innovation Forum 2021, themed "Innovation through Sustainability", invited guest speakers include representatives from LAVAZZA, Brembo, Bracco Pharmaceutical Technology, Sunkwan Real Estate Group, the Italian National Chamber of Fashion (CNMI), as well as scholars and professors from the College of Architecture and Urban Planning, the School of Mechanical and Energy Engineering, the College of Design and Innovation of Tongji University and the 10th People's Hospital affiliated to Tongji University. They will share their insights on innovative research and practical experience in relation to sustainability in the fields of franchising, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, fashion and architecture and real-estate industry, and provide advice for industry-academia-research cooperation, industry innovation and sustainable social development between Italy and China.

The inauguration of the Sino-Italian Week and inauguration ceremony of the Student Labour Education Base at Tongji University is celebrated in the roof garden of Yunchou Building, Tongji University. The base will combine the advantages of the SIC platform with the University's disciplines and courses to establish an international education base that integrates labour and aesthetic education, to innovate the form of "environmental education" and contribute to campus construction, talent training and campus culture development.

The lecture on Development of the City and Architecture in Shanghai, organized by the Center for Italian Studies of Tongji University (CSIUT), featured LIU Kan, associate professor at the College of Architecture and Urban Planning, to share his insights and hold discussions.
